Currently, I’m working on a French Country inspired renovation in Silver Spring, MD. This house is a large red brick Colonial with a slate hip roof, setback from the street on a serene large lot. Everytime I drive through the neighborhood there are a few deer peacefully grazing in the yards nearby. Something to plan for during the landscape design and plants that are chosen in this yard.
A three story addition has been added in the rear to afford a spacious kitchen & family room, an amazing master suite on the upper level & an additional private large bedroom w/ ensuite in the lower level that could be an au-pair or in-law feature. Two hall bedrooms with a Jack n Jill bath that offer a unique design feature initiated by Upstaged Design Co. providing more privacy for those future residents. My favorite room may be the 4th story bedroom also w/ ensuite, I call this room the nest. It’s perched high in the trees and so inviting! From the first time I saw this property, I knew French Country should be the design. I’ve been Pinteresting ideas for months, while the construction was taking place. Now we are at my favorite part installing the finishes & features that bring the vision to life.
Our bath choices were recently finalized, materials selected at The Tile Shop where we work with our business representative to assist us with the specifics of the materials chosen for our design. Working with suppliers that provide phenomenal service and expert material advice on the selections we are considering results in the best outcome of our vision. Having these types of relationships with our vendors is why it is important to choose an Interior Designer like Upstaged Design Co. to guide you through decor choices, installation & renovations for your home or project!
For the exterior we’ve selected a light smokey gray by Sherwin Williams that will set the stage for the charcoal shutters and trim accents that are signature traits of French Country design. A shaded porch for sharing the enjoyment of the natural beauty of this location. Oil rubbed bronze lanterns that light the garden path and walkways as night sets in. Carriage style doors for the rear facing garage add elegance to the backyard.
